FEAR Scream Park, twice awarded as the UK’s Best Scream Park, caused a Twitter storm this weekend as their clown briefly appeared on Britain’s Got Talent. The Clown, who despite displaying an incredible array of magic tricks, had his appearance cut short and didn’t get a golden buzzer due to Simon Cowell’s coulrophobia. The act even left some viewers complaining to Ofcom due to the unannounced appearance of a clown on pre watershed TV, but left others wanting more!
Simon Cowell, renowned judge and producer of the show, has a well-known fear of clowns and was visibly shaken by the performance. Despite The Clown’s undeniable talent and the audience’s enthusiastic reception, Cowell could not get past his personal phobia and unfortunately did not advance the act to the next round.
“We’re disappointed that Simon couldn’t appreciate the talent and hard work that went into creating our clown,” said a spokesperson for FEAR Scream Park. “But we understand that some people have fears that are difficult to overcome.”
FEAR Scream Park is no stranger to pushing the boundaries of fear and horror, and their appearance on Britain’s Got Talent is a testament to their creativity and innovation. The team behind The Clown spent months perfecting the act and designing the character, and although he may be ‘too scary for TV’, he won’t be too scary for their live and immersive event open on select dates this October.
